This
course is an introduction to practical statistics. It includes
all topics in nearly any college introductory statistics class.
The topics are divided into four major parts: exploratory
data analysis, designing experiments, probability, and statistical
inference. Statistics, by its very nature, requires active
learning. A graphing calculator (TI-83, TI-84, TI-86, or TI-89)
is required and will be used daily. Our textbook is The
Practice of Statistics, by Yates, Moore, and Starnes. |
