Physical Science - College Prep The physical science program focuses on lab skills: use of lab equipment, obtaining data in the lab, organizing data into tables, graphs, histograms, an understanding of error and uncertainty in measurement, the powers and limitations of models in science and the relationship between problem solving and physical situations. Content will come from the areas of chemistry and physics and an understanding and appreciation of the physical world will be cultivated. |

• Demonstrate that they have acquired the basic knowledge and skills in physical science through lab reports and exams. • Use a systematic (scientific method) approach to problem solving. • Demonstrate process skills such as collecting, organizing and analyzing data and making inferences from data. • Demonstrate lab skills such as using apparatus, setting up and conducting experiments, as well as working cooperatively in a lab group. • Ask appropriate questions and communicate scientific information in both oral and written form. |
