CDH FootballCretin- Derham Hall Football has four levels: Ninth Grade, Tenth Grade (B Squad), Junior Varsity, and Varsity. Football is a sport that encourages both experienced and non-experienced players to participate.

The beginning practice date for football is August 17, 2009 for 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Please read the important dates to remember document for information pertaining to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. 9th Grade football will start on Wednesday Aug. 19, 2009 at 12:00 in the Field house. On Wednesday, the 9th graders will have a team meeting and then have equipment distribution. Ninth graders should bring a check for $50 payable to CDH for uniform distribution which includes (practice/game jersey, girdle, lock, and mouthguard). Helmet and all pads are distributed to all players free of charge. The first actual day of practice for ninth grade football will be Thursday, Aug. 20 at 8:00 AM. 9th graders should report to practice at CDH at 7:30 AM on Thursday, Aug. 20. The team will bus to St. Clair playground for practice at 8 AM.
Clothing Order - At the Parent/Athlete Meeting on Wed. Aug. 5th football clothing order will be available. It is encourage that you get to the meeting early to sign up for various events during the season and for ordering purposes. These warm ups are not required purchases for the team. University of St. Thomas Construction Update for CDH Football Games
Fan/Spectator Information – Note that as construction environments change, directions for games may also change, please be aware of any changes as the season passes.
- East of the football stadium is completely under construction.
- Carpooling to games is recommended as parking areas are more limited than in the past due to construction.
- Spectators should park in the lot at the intersection of Grand Ave and Cretin Ave on the west side of the ramp first.
- Parking in the parking ramp will be free of charge
- Drop off spots are very limited due to the construction area and congestion any drop off area would create.
- Handicap parking will be available by the south end of the stadium next to the construction zone. These spaces will be marked off and limited.
- Residential areas surrounding UST require city parking permits. NOTE that your car may be towed if you park in one of these areas. Please check the signage on any residential street and be mindful of the neighborhoods.
- Police and UST Public Safety will help with traffic flow, to prevent accidents. There is a significant concern for pedestrians attempting to cross Cretin Ave and Summit Ave at non-intersection areas. Please use the cross walks at all times.
- Ticket sales will occur along Cretin Avenue. There will be presale tickets for all regular season home games during lunch at CDH the day of and day before the game. Students and families from the CDH Community are encouraged to purchase their tickets at CDH during lunch. The lunch period starts at 11:05 to 12:45. Tickets will not be sold before or after this time.
- Please arrange pick up of your son/daughter or adult fans in a location that does not create congestion. Picking up along Cretin Avenue or in the South Lot adjacent to the construction is prohibited.
PARKING at University of St. Thomas
- SPECTATORS should park on the south side of campus (West of Cretin Avenue, South of Summit Ave. and at the end of Grand Ave.) The ramp will be free of charge and there is also another parking space west of the parking ramp. Please carpool when possible. Be courteous to neighborhoods and residential areas if parking on city streets and be aware of any parking restrictions.
- HANDICAPPED PARKING will be available in the lot H directly south of the stadium and construction staging area. This area will be marked off and limited.
- DROPPING OFF/PICKINIG UP fans will be challenging. If necessary, please do not drop off or pick up along Cretin or Summit Ave.
- SCHOOL BUSES will drop off on Cretin Ave as the bus is heading North and then park along Cretin Ave. (School buses must be mindful of not parking before 6 PM (city ordinance) and be aware of parking restrictions on Cretin Avenue for City Buses.) UST confirmed there would be enough spaces for 6 or 7 buses in this area.
