Current choir members say...
... My favorite part of choir is
How welcoming everyone is, and how great friends are made. -- sophomore woman
I like how it gives me a break in my day and lets me use my creative outlet. I like all the songs we do, not always right away, but eventually. The people in choir are really fun and from what I've found, welcoming. -- junior man
You can start at any level. It's a fun break in the day. You meet new people. -- 9th grade woman
The music, using it as a way to express myself. Also a feeling of belonging somewhere. -- junior woman
The people, how challenging/fun the songs are. -- senior man
I really like being with people who share my interests. I also really like being able to sing everyday and be recognized as a good singer. -- 9th grade woman
I love the diversity of people involved. I love that some people in choir are performing in operas and honor choirs on the side while others are juggling three sports but still just love to sing. -- senior woman
I just like singing so... it's fun. Since I'm in Pop Singers and Select Treble Choir it's fun to sing a wide range of music. -- 9th grade woman
I get to sing as loud as I want and nobody really cares. I am able to stretch my vocal limits as well as my comfort zone. -- senior man
It's such a unique experience during the day with a wide variety of people. It's just like any sports team. You work, you learn, you support, you succeed. -- junior woman
The atmosphere is like no other. You feel support and kindness throughout the room and everyone is very friendly. -- junior man
I like all the new people you meet and no one will judge you on your ability to sing. -- senior woman
...How I've changed because of being in choir
Choir had made me a lot more confident. -- senior woman
I got a lot more in touch with myself and I gained confidence. Good times. Fun Songs. -- senior man
It has given me a foundation for all four years I've been at CDH. I always look forward to being in the choir room. -- senior woman
I've learned a lot more things about music that I didn't know in grade school. -- 9th grade woman
It has helped me to become more well rounded and... better at singing. -- senior man
I have become more confident in everything I do and it makes my day fly by. -- senior woman
I think I have become more confident with myself. I also have developed more friendships and am not afraid of what people think of me. -- sophomore woman
I've learned that I'm more talented than I think, and a lot about leadership and teamwork. -- senior woman
It's really taught me about working together. -- junior woman
I am better and appreciate music more. -- 9th grade man
I'm much more inclined to sing in front of other people now. I've also expanded my horizons, singing wise, and am planning on doing a solo and trying out for Pop Singers. I wouldn't have done that before. -- sophomore woman
Being in choir has made me more confident. For a lot of people singing in front of people (especially doing a solo) is one of the scariest things. It used to be the same for me until I joined choir. Choir has also given me a way to express myself in song. -- junior man
...Why people should join choir
You have fun, you have music, you have people, why not? It's not about talent, but heart. -- senior woman
Get out of your comfort zone. At least try it. It is the only way you grow. -- senior man
It has made coming into high school easier. -- 9th grade woman
For the empowering atmosphere. It's amazing what you feel you can accomplish when you're belting out a good note. -- senior woman
It's a great break in your day and it is tons of fun. -- sophomore woman
it's just an overall great experience. -- senior man
People should join choir because it is a blast, and you make amazing friends from all social circles. -- 9th grade woman
It's a huge confidence booster and if you love to sing you get to do what you love! -- sophomore woman
To widen their horizons by doing something fun like choir. -- 9th grade man
You get to sing everyday, and it's a lot of fun! -- 9th grade woman
The people in it. -- 9th grade man
What do you have to lose? -- junior woman
