Our Social Studies program is intentionally designed to cultivate critical thinkers who are equipped to engage with the complexities of the modern world. Grounded in the belief that all students can grow when instruction is responsive and meaningful, our curriculum meets learners where they are, and challenges them to go further. Through a blend of required and elective courses, students develop the analytical skills, empathy, and historical perspective needed to become active, informed citizens locally, nationally, and globally.

Social Studies

  • College-level opportunities, including AP Human Geography in 9th grade and one of the state’s first AP African American Studies courses
  • Interdisciplinary offerings at both the 9th and 12th grade levels

  • We challenge learners at every level, including through our nationally recognized History Day program in 10th grade U.S. History, where college-prep students engage in high-level research, original argumentation, and public presentation.
