CDH Honors AAPI History Month with Music, Reflection, and Comedy

CDH Honors AAPI History Month with Music, Reflection, and Comedy

The annual AAPI Celebration was held on May 12, with students, faculty, and staff coming together for a morning of reflection, music, performance, and AAPI History Month learning.

The program opened with a student reflection from John Seabloom '26, followed by a musical selection titled “My gifts from the world.” The performance featured Yidan Xu '26 (voice), Noah Remer '28 (piano), Mateo Chevrier '28 (violin), Natalie Sabraski ‘29 (violin), Alexis Boland '28 (flute), and Nan Wang (keyboard, cello sound). Emily Teixeira '29 then shared a student reflection and performed a harp piece.

The celebration also featured the Funny Asian Women Kollective, who introduced their work with “Who Are We?” and performed pieces by Naomi Ko and May Lee-Yang. Their set mixed humor and storytelling while highlighting identity and lived experience within Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

Students joined in for an AAPI History Month Jeopardy-style game, with volunteers going up on stage and prizes were awarded to winning teams.
