Letter from the Principal - January 2026

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy New Year! As we celebrate the arrival of the 2026 Calendar Year, we start planning for the 26-27 School Year, including course registration.

Registration is a significant part of the academic planning process for students, teachers, and the school. Students' decisions now will impact their schedules and other future academic pathways. Students have the month of January to research their options before registering online. Parents and guardians should take this time to talk with their students to guide them in making these decisions. There are resources available online on the registration page.

Our faculty and counselors assist students in this process. Teachers advise students on the appropriate course or level. Teachers are available at conferences if you want to discuss their recommendations. Our counselors are knowledgeable academic advisors. Your student should contact them for guidance about their overall schedule, graduation requirements, and post-secondary preparation. I am also available to discuss the many options with you or your student. You should contact me if your student has unique circumstances or problems fitting everything into their schedule.

Registration is a critical component of our instructional planning. We determine the number of course sections, instructional budget, teacher assignments, and instructional staffing based on students' course selections. We also use this information to build our master schedule. While we cant build a perfect schedule for all students, making the correct selections now increases their chances of having the schedule they want next school year.

I am proud of our program of studies and course offerings. Students can select from many course options to tailor their academic experience to meet their needs. Our academic departments and teachers are committed to offering our students an engaging, relevant, and challenging curriculum. Our teachers are passionate about sharing their subjects with their students and continue to teach diverse electives, even though it may mean adding an extra prep to their schedules.

Thank you for your trust in the education and academic experience CDH provides.

Stay warm,

Mona Passman, Principal
