New Guest Verification System Enhances Safety at CDH

New Guest Verification System Enhances Safety at CDH

CDH has recently installed a new guest verification system designed to further enhance the safety and security of our school community. The system helps us maintain an accurate record of who is in the building at all times and checks the sex offender registry and other databases to ensure our school remains as safe as possible.

All visitors—without exception—are required to sign in using this system, even if they are well known to staff. The first visit may take approximately two to three minutes to complete.

When guests arrive at CDH, they will use the iPad kiosk located at Door 1. Visitors will scan the barcode on their driver’s license or state-issued ID, select the location they are visiting within the building, and have their photo taken. A visitor badge with the guest’s photo will then be printed and should be worn during the visit. Returning visitors will not need to have their photo retaken; once they select their destination, a badge will print automatically. At the end of the visit, guests will scan the barcode on their ID or visitor badge to check out.

“We know this process may take an extra minute, but the added layer of security is well worth it,” said Amy Bellus, Assistant Principal, Dean Gr. 10. “This system helps us quickly identify who is in our building and gives families and staff greater peace of mind.”

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement this new process. The safety of our school community is our top priority, and this system is an important step in supporting that commitment.
