Stages Theater Musical Brings Story of Kindness and Friendship to Life - Inspired by CDH Alumni

Stages Theater Musical Brings Story of Kindness and Friendship to Life - Inspired by CDH Alumni

Currently on stage at Stages Theater is the world premier of the musical, The Right Thing to Do - the Joe Mauer Story.  This show explores the power of being kind, friendship, and the importance of doing what is right.

From Stages Theater:  “It wasn’t just baseball practice and talent that shaped Hall of Famer, Joe Mauer! In fact, a simple choice set into motion a series of events that would transform not only his life but the lives of those around him.”

This original musical, developed by Stages Theater is based on the children’s book of the same name by Joe Schmit, The Right Thing To Do.  The simple but powerful story centers on how two of our alumni, Joe Mauer ‘01 and Mike Hally ‘01 became friends in the lunchroom at CDH.  Stages Theater, in a quest for authenticity, put the cast in CDH uniforms for the high school segment of the story.

Proceeds for the children’s book go to Highland Friendship Club and the Thumbs Up Foundation.

Running through May 10, 2026, tickets are still available at Stages Theater Box Office.
