17th Annual Empty Bowls Supports Heifer International

CDH students and staff hosted the 17th annual Empty Bowls on February 6 during Justice Week 2019.
Empty Bowls invites students, faculty, and community to enjoy a light meal of soup and bread with a choice of handmade ceramic bowls for a small donation.
Many, many bowls of soup, buns, and slices of bread, and handmade ceramic bowls were enjoyed by all who attended.
A special addition to this year's dinner was the participation of our CDH Choir and Jazz Band. The evening had a "Dinner and a Show" feel, which was enjoyed by all who attended.
While the final numbers are not in, it is hoped that we will have raised another $6,000 to support the work of Heifer International. Heifer International provides families in need with animals they can use to become economically stable.
None of this would be possible with the amazing work of the Empty Bowls Leadership Team, including: Elizabeth Everson, Allison Reding, Carolina Schuster, Mary Grace Shearon, Andrew Theisen, Karissa Tschida, Lynn Willems, Ana Cullen, Will Domler, Max Karas, Olivia Kalla, Ellie Murphy, Harry Olander, Gaby Blanco, Charlie Lindell, Cherry Jordan, Cecilia Shearon, Maria Lacina, and Glenna Wethington.
In addition, the event is dependent on the generous donors of many soup, bread, silent auction items, and ceramic bowls! Thank you to all who make this a wonderful celebration of the CDH community, as well as justice outreach.
