Football Receives Three 2017 Academic All State Awards

   The Minnesota Football Coaches Association announced the recipients of the 2017 Academic All-State awards. Cretin-Derham Hall was proud to be the recipient of three honors: a team honor and two individual honors.

Team Academic All-State

Cretin-Derham Hall was named to the Class 6A Gold Team which requires the team to have a GPA of 3.26 or higher for the past school year for their whole home official roster.

Individual Academic All-State

Seniors Matt Cunningham'18 and Anthony Czech'18 also received Academic All-State awards. To be eligible for this honor, the student must be a senior starter on offense, defense, or kicker and have exemplified outstanding football and leadership ability plus academic excellence, carry a 3.0 GPA during his sophomore, junior, and first quarter of senior year, and have no eligibility penalties or infractions during high school career.

Head coach Brooks Bollinger comments, "We are proud of the way our student-athletes carried themselves on and off the field this fall. Our success on the field was a result of our senior leadership and a group of young men committed to being excellent in all areas of their lives. It is a great honor for us to receive team Academic All-State Honors and we are very proud to be led in the classroom by two of our captains, Anthony Czech and Matthew Cunningham, who both received individual Academic All-State Honors."
