Homecoming 2017 - A Great Success

October 2, 2017

The spirit and energy was alive last week as the Cretin-Derham Hall community celebrated Homecoming Week.

The CDH Student Council worked tirelessly to put on many events throughout the week to unify our student body.

Each day during the week had a theme, including: Roll Out of Bed Day, Twins Day, Mismatch Day, and Raider Pride Day. Father Pat Kennedy'69 led us in an all-school Homecoming Mass on Tuesday.

The week ended with the highly anticipated Pep Fest. Mr. Mark McGuire, was the emcee for the afternoon and led each CASA house in some fun team building relays. The crowds helped cheer on the annual CDH Captains' dance followed by the CDH Dance Team. CDH's Super Fans helped teach the student body the school's cheers and the afternoon ended with the always energetic Faculty and Staff dance! Thank you to the Student Council and their advisors for all of their work.

The Service Committee held their annual Homecoming Coat Drive this past week. The committee collected gently-used coats, jackets, heavy sweatshirts, mittens, gloves, and hats.

In addition to many home sports contests, soccer fans enjoyed gathering on campus to support the Girls and Boys teams, along with the Purple People Feeders Food Truck.   The football team was victorious over East Ridge, with a very spirited student section and many returning alumni to cheer them on.

Thanks to Mr. Brock Beithon for capturing these moments throughout the week. Enjoy the highlights in the video below.
