Raider Energy was High for Homecoming Week

September 28, 2022

Homecoming 2022 was celebrated during the week of September 19-23 and the Raider energy was off-the-charts this year!

Student Council planned a full week of fun!  Students dressed up for theme days and there were several special events planned throughout the week: On Monday, seniors kicked off Homecoming Week by gathering early in the morning for the sunrise! It was also "Comfy Day" and Teacher Family Feud." Tuesday was Homecoming Mass and "Jersey Day." The annual "Activities Fair' was held on Wednesday. Kids were able to choose from over 40 clubs/activities in their "Doppelganger Day" outfits. Thursday was BINGO and "Groutfit (all gray)" day. There was also a big volleyball match between the Junior/Senior Boys. The powderpuff football game for the Junior/Senior girls was postponed due to rain.

The liveliest day was Friday. Seniors gathered early for their big senior picture. Students were also treated to candy handed out by CDH grandparents during lunch.  The students wore purple and gold to show their school spirit. The always-energetic Homecoming Pep Fest had everyone dancing, singing and cheering. The Homecoming football game was that evening and the BEAN (Black Excellence Alumni Network) gathered on Wingerd Field for a tailgate party.

Many of the fall sports had games/matches during the week so Raider fans could enjoy volleyball, boys soccer, girls soccer, football, cross country, girls swimming and girls tennis. The week culminated with the big Homecoming Dance which was held in the Joe Mauer Field House. About 750 students attended the dance, which is a remarkable turnout!

It was a lot of fun celebrating Raider pride last week! See below for more photos.
