These scholarships are awarded annually to promote the value and benefits of JROTC and to encourage participation in the program. There is no expectation of military service following graduation. The scholarship applications are available now and are due by January 1, 2026.
Schaller Raider Scholarship Requirements and Application
The merit-based awards, ranging from $10,000 to $1,000 each year, will be applied to tuition and will be renewable for all four years with good standing in JROTC*.
The scholarship is independent of any tuition assistance awarded to the family.
There are three requirements for incoming 9th grade students to complete the application:

Student submits a completed Application for Enrollment to CDH.

Student enrolls in the JROTC Program at CDH when registering for classes on February 12, 2026

Student submits a Scholarship Application, including a Principal/Teacher/Administrator endorsement. The scholarship application must be complete before you can request the endorsement from your teacher. The endorsement form for your teacher is automatically generated after you submit your application.
Scholarship recipients will be notified mid January, 2026. If a current recipient forfeits their scholarship, students who applied for the scholarship the previous year may be invited to re-apply.

*Good Standing in JROTC
Students must be in good standing in JROTC, as defined by the following:
- Active involvement in JROTC co-curriculars, for example, earning a varsity letter in one of the teams
- Three hours of JROTC service per trimester
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 with no incomplete assignments
- A cumulative JROTC GPA of 3.0 with no incomplete assignments
- Demonstrated leadership at CDH through service, honoring CDH values, following school policies, such as uniform wear, and overall attitude.
Students who do not meet the criteria above will have their scholarship placed in probation and may not be eligible to renew.
