Parents' Association - November News

Hello CDH Parents!

Parents’ Association Staff Appreciation

The Parents’ Association Staff Appreciation Committee hosted a Fall Feast Day on October 18 to show their gratitude to the exceptional teachers and staff at CDH.  Countless parent volunteers contributed time, decorations, beverages, food, desserts and cash donations to help make the day a great success.

The food was fabulous and plentiful.  The morning began with a hearty breakfast and hot coffee donated by Skinner's and supplemented by donations of bagels, cinnamon rolls and fruit platters. Lunch included a generous donation of pasta and breadsticks from DeGidio's, meatballs and pasta from Tommy Chicago's Pizzeria and fresh baked cookies and bars. The evening was topped off with Italian salad donated by Mancini's and pizza from Skinner's.  In addition, Trader Joe's donated the lovely floral bouquets.

Thank you to all the volunteers to who donated, baked, served and helped with cleanup. Without your support this event would not be possible.  A special note of thanks goes out to the CDH Maintenance Staff who help us all in so many ways. Finally we would like to recognize and thank our special vendor partners:  Skinners, Mancinis, Tommy Chicago, DeGidios and Trader Joes.

Father-Son Banquet - Chair & Co-Chair Needed to Keep Event Going

The Parents’ Association is still in need of a Chair and Co-Chairs for our annual Father Son Banquet. The event is scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 19, but we need a Chair and Co-Chair to keep this long-standing event going. If you are interested please contact the Parents’ Association President Erin Schneeman

Food To Hogs

We were given the opportunity to volunteer in the cafeteria from 11:05 a.m. to 12:45  p.m. to help with a new project called "Food for Hogs.”  Introduced to CDH by our very own teacher Mr. Rob Peick, the program has caught the attention of many of our students!  Essentially, it’s managing food waste and recycling during the lunch periods and guiding the students. It was amazing to watch how educated and aware the kids are at following the rules of recycling knowing this simple act will help them care for our environment!

Sign up to volunteer during lunch periods, come visit your kids and make the world a better place!

Parents’ Association Dues - Please Help Support Annual PA events!

One important change this year to the Parents’ Association is that we will no longer benefit from the Target Red Card, as Target has decided to go in a different direction with their charitable giving. The PA events, which were subsidized significantly by those contributions, will need some financial backing from all of us at CDH. With that in mind, we are asking each family to pay dues to the Parents’ Association of $30 per family.

Dues will help us to keep the cost of attendance at our events affordable for all and allow us to continue the great traditions that we have been able to enjoy for many years. Pay your dues here.  Thank you for supporting the CDH Parents’ Association!

Join In - We Need Your Help and It's FUN!

If you are interested in helping with future events please sign up to to volunteer today.  You can find more information on our Parents' Association on the CDH website.
