Production History

The CDH Theater Department is ever changing.  In order to provide students with a well-rounded experience in theater, work is chosen that varies in style, genre, concept, time period, etc.  Our seasons have evolved into the following format:

  • SUMMER PLAY PRODUCTION CLASS SHOW - Students work four weeks in the summer to act, direct, and tech direct the production which opens the first week of school.
  • FALL PLAY – Varies
  • TOUR SHOW - The script is catered to middle school and junior high students.   The show travels to local schools, usually in the  Fall.
  • CHILDREN’S PLAY– The script is geared toward young audiences. This show is reserved for actors who have not played a major role in a CDH production.
  • WINTER  PLAY – Often used as a discussion piece for curriculum within CDH's school year. The show is typically staged in the Black Box Theater.
  • SPRING MUSICAL  - Varies
  • SUMMER COMMUNITY THEATER -- An opportunity for current students, alumni and alumnae, faculty, staff, families, children,  neighbors (and anyone who is interested!) to collaborate with our department to put on a show.
