Business at CDH

The Business Department provides an environment that enables students to achieve their intellectual potential, to further their business education, and to develop the basic skills and qualities of leadership needed in their personal and business activities. The department also provides a setting for developing Christian values by developing an ethical business viewpoint.

The Business Department curriculum provides an opportunity for students to learn valuable practical skills for their future academic and career endeavors, as well as their everyday lives. Our courses are geared toward a variety of student interests, from Personal Finance to Accounting.

Our business courses also provide unique opportunities to discuss ethical decision-making as it applies to everyday dilemmas in business and finance.

The CDH Advantage!

  • Investment Club
    • This club meets to discuss, analyze, and experience different options for investing. Students take part in a virtual stock exchange game to learn the ups and the downs of investing for both the short and long term.
  • DECA
    • DECA is a competitive program that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.
      • In 2017, over 60 students competed, with 29 going to the state competition, and one senior taking first place and qualifying for internationals.
  • Mentor Program
    • In our Business Mentor Program, CDH students are paired up with a mentor from a local company who will discuss career and professional business topics.
