Laure Waschbusch, MD, FACOG’84 graduated from Derham Hall in 1984.  Her undergrad degree was in electrical engineering from North Dakota State University. Then it was on to medical school at the University of Minnesota. Finally, Laure completed her OB-Gyn residency at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Directly out of residency, she joined Partners OB-Gyn and has spent her entire career with the group. She loves to travel and take adventure trips! Laure has hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu in the Andes Mountains of Peru.


John Mazzitello’88 graduated from CDH in 1988.  He grew up in Saint Paul and Roseville. Upon graduation from CDH, John attended Marquette University on an Air Force ROTC Scholarship. John served six years in the active duty Air Force and later joined the Air Force Reserve and the Alaska Air National Guard. John returned to Minnesota in 2004 and took a job with RLK Incorporated where he designed and constructed commercial, industrial, and residential land development projects. In 2008, John was hired as the Public Works Director/City Engineer for the City of Mendota Heights, where he served for eight years.  John is currently employed as the Director of Municipal Services for KLJ, a national engineering firm with 24 offices in six different States. 


Ellen Schafer’10 graduated from CDH in 2010 and continued her education at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Ellen double majored in Elementary Education (K-6) and Science and Mathematics in Elementary Education (5-8). Ellen recently received her post Baccalaureate Certification in K-12 Engineering Education. At UST she learned that engineering could be for anyone. Ellen works at St. Joseph’s Catholic School, West St. Paul as a middle school science teacher. Outside of teaching, she is the varsity volleyball coach for CDH and director of Northern Heat JO Volleyball Club.


Mike Kammerer’58 attended St. Andrews before he started his student career at Cretin. After graduating in 1958, he spent two years at St. John’s in Collegeville, Minnesota and then transferred to the University of Colorado where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree. While attending school in Colorado, he spent all of his spare time working at one of the largest registered Angus ranches in the state. He spent the early part of his career in the polymer and electronics industries.  He joined Dresser Industries in 1967 as Manager of Industrial Engineering at one of their plants in Dallas, Texas, and held many positions within the company.  After 30 years of dedicated service with Dresser Industries, Mike retired in 2000 as Corporate Senior Vice President.  He then turned his attention to building a premier herd of Brangus cattle at his Red Bird Meadows Ranch in Texas.
