The Cretin-Derham Hall Alumni Association fosters spirits and lifelong relationships between alumni and the school. The association strives to promote the goals of the school and to encourage programs of interaction between students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
Comprised of members of all three schools: Cretin, Derham Hall, and Cretin-Derham Hall, the Alumni Association meets three times a year: November, February, and May.
Prior to 2014, each school had a separate alumni association, but the boards decided it was time to combine the three alumni associations into one, now known as the CDH Alumni Association. The role of the Alumni Association is to be ambassadors for Cretin-Derham Hall and to represent the core values of our school.
Leading the association is the Cretin-Derham Hall Alumni Board, made up of twelve active alumni, with four representatives from each school.
Tim Garcia ’85 is the current president of the Alumni Association and he will be in that role until July 2017. “We are looking for more alumni to get involved!”
Garcia has been involved in alumni events for several years and appreciates the opportunity to not only be an advocate for the school, but to also keep alumni informed about what is happening at CDH these days.
As a parent of a 9th grader, he is excited for his son to have his own journey through CDH. He and his wife are impressed with both the high academics and the diversity at the school today. “The two things I know my son will experience are the feeling of community at CDH and the sense of belonging to something special after he graduates from CDH.”
This article and more are featured in the Winter 2016-2017 issue of the CDH Magazine, Traditions.
