CDH Band Performs at the Suburban East Conference Music Festival
February 13, 2019
The CDH Band attended the Suburban East Conference Music Festival on February 4 at White Bear Lake-South. In spite of a two-hour weather delay, the day went on with the nine top bands and choirs and seven orchestras of the conference performing throughout the day.
Each ensemble received a workshop with guest clinicians. The clinicians were Dr. Tim Mahr from St. Olaf (band), Dr. Jonathan Talberg from Cal State-Long Beach (choir) and Dr. Kirk Moss for the University of Northwestern-St. Paul (orchestra).
The day culminated with the Grand Finale Concert featuring the All-Conference Band, Choir and Orchestra, conducted by the guest clinicians.
Five CDH Band members were in the All-Conference Band: seniors Jack Chojnacki (alto sax), Alex Christensen (bari sax) and Mary Grace Shearon (trumpet); and juniors Tommy Zastrow (trombone) and Ben Craighead (euphonium).
