CDH Celebrates Sisters of Saint Joseph
March 20, 2017
A special Founders' Day Celebration in honor of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, was held on March 20, 2017, the day following the feast of St. Joseph. The day included an all-school assembly in the Joe Mauer Field House. A number of Sisters of St. Joseph and Consociates were in attendance, including current CDH faculty members Jackie Bohrer '82 and Lou Anne Tighe. The assembly concluded with recognition of students and faculty who embody the values of the Sisters and their contributions to Catholic education, as well as their ministries in health care and for those living on the margins.
Students had the opportunity to select a faculty or staff member who they believe best embodies the values of the Sisters of St. Joseph, and two students per grade level were selected by the faculty and staff.
The celebration was followed by a reception and dedication of the art in the McCloughan Carondelet Conference Room of the Sunberg Leadership Center.
Special thanks to Brian Nalipinski '96, owner of Dairy Queen in Morris, MN, for donating the dilly bars for the entire CDH school community, in honor of the day.
A day of celebration for the Christian Brothers is scheduled for May 15.
Those selected for recognition are:
Ninth Grade: Monica Calkins and William Domler
Sophomore: Rory King and Nina Pitera
Junior: Grace Regala and Claire Connelly
Senior: Catarina Gomez and Molly Johnson
Faculty/Staff: Mark McGuire, Maureen Modl, Doug Meeker and Dr. Janet Watson
