CDH Families Give Generously to Keep Others Warm This Winter
October 16, 2018
The CDH Raiders extended the celebration of Homecoming Week with the annual Homecoming Coat Drive.
The Service Committee of the Student Council — Abby Reeder ’19, CeCe Ziegler ’20, Sam Clausen ’19, and Nick Owsley ’20 — reported that six large bags of new and gently used coats, hats, mittens, and scarves were collected in only a few days, October 1-5, 2018.
All of the items were donated to Bancroft School in Minneapolis. The families of Bancroft School are most grateful for CDH's continued support to keep their community warm!
Members of the committee were motivated to lead the Coat Drive for diverse reasons. CeCe wanted to be a co-chair because the Coat Drive is not as well known around the school as the Blood Drive so this was a chance to help different people in a different way. Abby wanted to be a co-chair because the warm outerwear was going to Bancroft, her Senior Service Project school.
This was Sam’s second year of co-chairing the Drive, and he wanted to help again because he, “saw the positive impact on people who received the gift of a coat last year.”
