CDH Raider Brigade Celebrates at Dining-In
MSG Ken Peloski
December 12, 2018
More than 90 members of the JROTC Raider Brigade attended the Annual JROTC Dining-In on December 7, in the Commons. Mrs. Keske and Mr. Bichler were the Faculty Guests of Honor this year. The evening included a formal dinner, camaraderie, and many skits performed by the cadets.
The exact origin of the Dining-In is not known. It is believed, however, that the practice dates back to an old Viking tradition of holding formal ceremonies to celebrate great battles and feats of heroism. These ceremonies usually included a dinner of fine foods and fellowship. Later this custom spread to the Military to build professionalism and esprit de corps among the units.
