CDH Students Participate in Super Bowl Week's Wounded Warrior Game
January 29, 2018
Cretin-Derham Hall is proud to support the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team (WWAFT) vs. the NFL Alumni Game of Honor on Wednesday, January 31 at Concordia University.
The WWAF Team is composed of Iraq and Afghanistan conflict amputees and their sole mission is to show everyone that “the loss of a limb doesn’t mean the end of an active life.”
For the first time, this annual Super Bowl Charity Flag Football Game will be played in the Twin Cities and CDH students have been honored to be asked to participate in several important parts of the event.
- Our JROTC Honor/Color Guard will participate in the opening ceremonies.
- Members of our varsity football team will help with pre-game warm-up and lead the WWAFT onto the field at game time.
- Our Dance Team will perform at half-time.
- Free entry for CDH parents! The public is invited.
More than 40 Vikings and NFL stars will compete in the game, including Hall-of-Famers Chris Doleman and Carl Eller, Vietnam veteran and four-time Super Bowl Steeler champion Rocky Bleier, Chuck Foreman, Rich Gannon, and Ron Jaworski.
