CDH Teacher Recognized by MN History Day Program

Cretin-Derham Hall is proud to announce the selection of social studies teacher Greg Poferl as Teacher of Merit for 2015, Senior Division, for the Minnesota History Day Program. He will be given this honor and recognized for his accomplishments at the Minnesota State History Program Awards Night on May 2 at the University of Minnesota.

Poferl, a graduate of the Cretin High School Class of 1964, was chosen out of all high school teachers in the state who coordinate and mentor high school students’ projects for the Minnesota History Day competition.  In addition to this honor, he will now be the Minnesota nominee for the Patricia Behring Senior Division Teacher of the Year Award at the national level.

“Greg has done a remarkable job with History Day,” said CDH principal Mona Passman. “Through his vision and collaboration with committed CDH staff members, CDH students participate, thrive, and succeed in the History Day Program.”
