Chess Club Relaunches for Tri III
March 9, 2021
Chess Club has been on hiatus this year, but they are relaunching with virtual chess for Tri III. The club will meet in Mark McGuire's classroom on Mondays during the 11/12 Flex time.
Nate Muetzel '22 and William Davis '22 are spearheading the club, due to their shared love of chess.
"I love chess because of the variety and the strategy. Each game with each opponent is different, and it's fun to figure out new ways to win," Muetzel said.
The two have been playing virtual chess together throughout the COVID-19 quarantine, allowing them to enjoy this ancient game safely. They are excited to welcome new students to the fun of chess.
"You should join Chess Club because it's a nice break in the day and you can meet new people who also enjoy chess," Davis said.
Students interested in joining should reach out to Muetzel, Davis, or Mark McGuire.
