Cretin-Derham Hall Names Phil Archer'99 as Athletic Director

Cretin-Derham Hall has named Phillip Archer ’99 as Athletic Director. Archer will join CDH on July 1, 2017.
Archer brings a unique background to the role of Athletic Director. In addition to his professional expertise in small business, and most recently as a logistics broker and sales consultant for C.H. Robinson, Archer’s sports acumen is strong. He is currently a football coach at Macalester College; he also played professional football in the NFL and NFL Europe. In addition, he is very active in community volunteer leadership and mentorship with youth programs such as the Boys and Girls Club, Jimmy Lee Recreation Center and Bolder Options.
“Phil comes back to CDH with a reputation for being a true leader in both organizational systems and youth mentorship,” stated Frank Miley, J.D., President of Cretin-Derham Hall. “We are thrilled that our student athletes and coaching staff will benefit from his love of athletics, collaborative style and dynamic leadership.”
“I am blessed and honored to be back in the halls of Cretin-Derham Hall; I have a huge amount of respect and love for the CDH community and its leaders,” noted Archer. “I am excited to work with coaches to find ways to enhance the student experience and build on the rich tradition of winning and commitment to excellence that CDH has maintained throughout its history.”
Archer, a 1999 graduate of Cretin-Derham Hall, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and conducted graduate work at Western Illinois University. He and his wife Crystal are raising their family in Blaine, Minnesota.
