Donors Behind Joe Mauer Fieldhouse Scoreboard Upgrade are Honored
September 8, 2025
In July, Cretin-Derham Hall proudly recognized the generosity of key donors who made the installation of new scoreboards in the Mauer Fieldhouse possible. This upgrade was made possible through the leadership and support of Daniel Oturu ’18, The Peter J. King Family Foundation, the Fotsch Family, and the Kronschnabel Family.
Student-athletes Sage Gilbert ’26, Jojo Mitchell ’26, and Ty Schlagel ’27 from the girls and boys basketball teams were present to share how the new scoreboards have transformed the game day atmosphere, bringing new energy and excitement to the court.
Also in attendance were basketball coaches Tara Gunderson and Jerry Kline ’93, along with volleyball coach Erin Horn. During the event, Daniel Oturu, Eric Fotsch, and Andy Kronschnabel spoke about the importance of investing in student experiences while replacing aging equipment nearing the end of its life cycle.
The scoreboard project is part of the Campaign for Raider Excellence, CDH’s strategic initiative focused on campus facility enhancements. To date, the school has invested and committed over $11 million toward modernizing its facilities and addressing critical infrastructure needs.
