Dusek is Hennepin Theatre Trust Award Finalist
June 5, 2018
Hennepin Theatre Trust recently announced its 2017-18 finalists for the Jimmy Awards and Triple Threat Awards. Out of the thousands of talented high school musical theater students, only 26 of them - including Cretin-Derham Hall’s Will Dusek ’19 - have been recognized as finalists for their accomplishments and community leadership while participating in the Trust's Spotlight Education program.
CDH Theater Director Katie Kreitzer shared this about Will and his talent, “As a ninth grader, Will understudied the leading role in How to Succeed. The actor got sick and Will ended up performing that role twice. It was during those performances that I realized Will had what it takes to do this as a career. He makes singing, dancing, and acting look easy and it's not. He is truly a triple threat.”
Dusek performs on Monday, June 11, at the State Theatre. He will perform again on Tuesday, June 12, as part of the cast and crew honored with 11 Spotlight awards for their spring musical 42nd Street.
The program begins at 7 p.m. on both nights and tickets are available online.
“Our entire theater community is proud of Will,” Kreitzer said. “My favorite thing about Will is that he is as kind and humble as he is talented.”
