Joe Mauer Field House Gym Floor Gets New Look
May 18, 2017
After more than 10 years of games, practices, PE classes, religious services, meetings, Pep Assemblies, and more, it was time to do a CDH Extreme Makeover on the Joe Mauer Field House floor. This is the first time in the history of the Field House that an update has been done.
Long gone are the faded yellow end lines and sidelines of the basketball court. This has been replaced with vibrant purple with two-color “Raiders” printed on each end line and “Cretin-Derham Hall” on the sidelines. The most notable addition will be the addition of the school logo to the middle of the court in bold school colors. The removal of the old finish has brightened the floor to an almost-new condition.
The work was contracted with JWood Sport Flooring out of Hudson, Wisconsin and was contracted to include re-sanding of the floor to the raw wood, application of two coats of seal, game lines/graphics, and the two coats of finish sealant. The work took about five weeks from start to finish.
