JROTC Drill Teams Compete in Iowa

Eighteen highly-motivated members of the JROTC Raider Brigade traveled to a drill competition in Council Bluffs, IA, on January 27, 2018.
Members of the Regulation Drill Team, Color Guard, and Armed Precision Drill Team competed against 15 other JROTC programs from across the Midwest, representing all the Services. Mary Andrzejek’19 and brother Sam’21 received a first place trophy for the Duo Armed Precision Exhibition Drill category. Will Bechtold’18 placed third in the same category.
In addition to the competition, the teams received an escorted tour of Offutt Air Force in Omaha, NE, headquarters for the Strategic Air Command. Two of the base highlights were the inner workings of the multiple mission fire department and rescue, and the military working dogs (K9) of the Base Security Forces Squadron.
