Mock Trial Enjoys Their Day in Court
January 16, 2020
The Mock Trial Teams are off to a great start! In our first round January 7, the Varsity team is in 2nd place and the 9th-grade team is in 5th place and the out of 31 teams in Ramsey County. The JV team had a Bye week.
There are 30 CDH students in Mock Trial with three teams and they practice twice a week after school learning the basics of trial preparation. Ms. Kathryn Fetterly, a former attorney, is the teacher coach and Jack Pierce of Bernick Lifson, P.A. is the attorney coach for the teams.
The case this year is a criminal trial involving an opioid overdose. The students are learning about the opioid crisis through witness statements and testimony. Each team will have three more regional trials and hopefully move on to qualify for the semi regionals and State! Wish them luck!
