Senior Women's Retreat Forges Strong Bonds
November 3, 2016
The start of the school year offered a special retreat opportunity for the senior women. Inspired by stories of the Fall 2015 Women’s Retreat, a group of juniors from the Leadership Academy last spring began to work with Ms. Bohrer to plan another Senior Women's Retreat.
The retreat leadership team included Grace Redpath, Jessica Simon, Danielle Harris, Georgia Ingwell, Cristina Olivier, Cori Peterson, Kaylee Hansen, Maddy Weegman, and Meghan Mulligan. They were joined by 90 of their classmates. The adult chaperones included Ms. Spears, Ms. Froehle, Ms. Kramer and Ms. Bohrer.
Pray and Play Together to Build Bonds
The goal of this year's Senior Women's Retreat was to build community, transform social cliques and meet new people - all while playing and praying together at YMCA Camp Ihdahapi on Sept. 11/12. It was rich in cabin time, large group bonding, a s’more campfire, cabin competitions, and girl talks. The retreat also gave attendees the chance to celebrate Mass together.
The retreat was not only a success on the weekend away at the camp, the connections forged between girls continue once back 'in the real world.' Rumor has it that some cabins still have lunch together on occasion. Plans for a lunchtime Women’s Forum is in the works so that Senior Women can continue to build the bonds of sisterhood where all young women believe that they are Strong,Brave, Beautiful, and Smart (SBBS Forever).
