Strong Season for Spring Athletics

The 2024-25 CDH Spring Sports season has been one to remember with three teams and several individuals qualifying for state tournament play. Let’s take a look back to the 2025 Spring Sports Season.
Baseball
The Raiders have had a banner year, they currently have a record of 20-4 and won the Section 4AAAA Championship for the first time since 2007 when they defeated White Bear Lake. The Raiders entered the state tournament as the #1 seed and defeated Rosemount 7-5 in state quarterfinals and then Farmington 7-1 in the state semifinals thus earning them a spot in the MSHSL Class AAAA State Championship game vs Minnetonka. The Raiders defeated Minnetonka 3-2 to capture their state record 12th state championship and first since 2007.
Softball
The softball team returned to the state tournament for the third consecutive year when they defeated Hill-Murray in the Section 4AAA Championship. The Raiders finished as State Consolation Champions. Brooke Nesdahl ’25 was named to the all-state team.
Boys Golf
The boys golf team returned to the state tournament for the second consecutive year when they won the Section 4AAA Championship by an astonishing 44 strokes. Sam Udovich ’25 was crowned the Section 4AAA Individual Champion and was also named Minnesota Mr. Golf as well. The Raiders completed their mission by winning the MSHSL Class AAA State Championship, the first in school history. Sam Udovich ’25 was also crowned the MSHSL Class AAA Individual Champion.
Girls Golf
The CDH Girls Golf Team had another excellent season! The JV and Varsity teams competed in the conference championship at Oak Glen on May 22. Sophomore Alayna Peterson '27 received the individual medal for “All-Conference” in the Suburban East Conference! Sophomore Regan Zimski '27 was named first in the JV Suburban East Conference standings - congratulations!
Track and Field
The Raiders had a great season with four individuals qualifying for the state meet June 10 and 12 at St. Michael-Albertville High School. Congratulations to Michael Seifu ’25 who will compete in the 110 and 300 M Hurdles, Luke Hilger ’26 in the triple jump, Cartier Russell Jr. ’27 in the 200 M Sprint and Terenata James ’27 in the 300 M Hurdles. Michael Seifu ’25 reached the top of the mountain as he was crowned the MSHSL Class AAA Individual Champion in the 300 M Hurdles.
Boys Tennis
The CDH Tennis team started sections with a nice 5-2 win over Hastings. In that match CDH got two very nice individual wins. At third singles Ronan Traynor ’27 beat his opponent, who he had lost badly to one week earlier, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. Another impressive individual win was at fourth singles where Louis Bilek ’26 beat his opponent 6-4, 4-6, (10-5).
Girls Lacrosse
The girls lacrosse team finished the season with a 12-4 record after losing a heartbreaking triple overtime game to Park Cottage Grove in the Section 3 Championship. Jordin Rosga ’28 was named all-state honorable mention. Rosga, Lilly Selander ’28 and Elena Kronschnabel ’25 were all named to the all-section team.
Boys Lacrosse
The Raiders finished the season with a 10-5 record and a second place finish in the Suburban East Conference. All-Section honors went to Austin Novatny ’27, Nate Chorlton ’26, Danny Runyon ’27 and Alex Waud ’27.
Boys Volleyball
The Raiders completed their inaugural season showing great improvement throughout the year. Post season honors were awarded to Andrew Green ’25 and Gino Krejce ’25.
