Summer Vacation or Summer Education?
September 7, 2017
Ms. Sarah Jamieson traveled to the University of Kansas City Missouri (UMKC) this past summer to take a week long intensive mechanical engineering course for teachers. During the course, Jamieson learned principles of civil and mechanical engineering from UMKC professors in the morning. In the afternoon, she worked with two master teachers to bring these concepts into the high school classroom by learning how to apply the learning with hands on labs, activities, and lectures.
Jamieson is excited and looking forward to incorporating many of these activities with her science students this school year.
