Taste of CDH Serves Up Food, Fun, and Community Spirit

May 12, 2025

There was no shortage of smiles, samplings, or school spirit at this year’s Taste of CDH event on May 3. With over 300 guests in attendance and 26 incredible local vendors donating their time, food, and talents, the evening was a celebration of community, connection, and great food, all in support of tuition assistance for CDH students.

The event served up more than just great food. It was a gathering of current and former parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, and friends, joined by student volunteers and adult helpers from the CDH Alumni Board, JROTC, and the Raider Rack. With conversations, laughter, and the scent of delicious food filling the air, the Taste of CDH felt like a family reunion—with a variety of great food options!

A handful of exciting new vendors joined the lineup this year, including Brick Oven Bus, Brother Justus Whiskey Company, The High Hat, Jameson’s Tavern, La Boulangerie Marguerite, and Pauly’s Pub and Grill. Guests sampled everything from brick oven pizza to French Brioche a la creme patissiere, with new favorites discovered at every table.

David Budge ‘78, representing Brother Justus Whiskey Company, shared, “It was really lovely to be back at CDH and to see all the alumni representation! There were so many wonderful people and so many good memories shared! We’re blessed to have such an incredible community, and even more blessed to have alumni who support the students.”

One of the most unique vendors of the night was the Brick Oven Bus—a former school bus transformed into a mobile pizza kitchen. Owner and CDH alum Paris Rosen ‘99 and his team set up just outside the back doors, serenading the crowd with Italian tunes while guests peeked inside the bus to watch pizzas being fired in a custom-built brick oven. Brick Oven Bus employees said, “it was a blast to serve at the Taste of CDH!”

The food may have been the headliner, but the heart of the evening was unmistakably the spirit of CDH. Guests lingered to chat with vendors, reconnect with friends, and enjoy the connections that only a strong, supportive community network can offer.

We invite you to continue supporting the vendors who made it all possible:
