Vote for Noah

Two students Cretin-Derham Hall, Noah Chojnacki and John Kuntz, have been named Featured Round Artist and Featured Round Composer respectively in Classical Minnesota Public Radio's Minnesota Varsity competition. Four of the Featured Round Artists will be selected as Showcase Artists by a panel of judges and one by an online Audience Vote. Starting Monday, March 23 people can vote at classicalmpr.org. So vote for Noah!

What is MN Varsity?

Music students (aged 14-18) are invited to submit a recording of an instrumental or vocal performance of a classical or musical theater work, for evaluation by a panel of MPR judges. Performances can be solo, or with a group, and can be up to 10 minutes in length. Student composers in the same age group are invited to submit an original score for a piano, clarinet and French horn trio between 3 and 7 minutes in length.

Classical MPR received more than 125 submissions from across the state. From those, 13 were chosen as Featured Artists and 5 were chosen as Featured Composers.

From these 5 Showcase Artists will be selected and invited to perform at MPR's Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul on Sunday, April 19at 5:00 p.m., for a live theater and radio broadcast, . at MPR's The Fitzgerald Theater, 10 E. Exchange St., St. Paul.

Tickets: Admission is free and open to the public but a ticket is required. Tickets can be reserved by calling the Fitzgerald Theater Box Office at 651-290-1200.
