Winfield Award Celebrates Student-Athletes

Juliana Cruz '22 and Isaac Mouacheupao '22 are this year's Winfield Award Winners. The award recognizes outstanding work ethic and leadership in athletics.  

Juliana Cruz has been a three-year varsity volleyball player. She has played off-season club volleyball as well. In 2021 and 2022, Juliana was voted "All-Conference Honorable Mention." and in 2022, her peers voted her a senior captain. Her aggressive play and high level of energy are fun to watch. Her huge smile and positive attitude are a tribute to her love of the sport. Juliana plans to continue playing volleyball at the collegiate level at Xavier University of Louisiana.
 
 
 
 
"Isaac's work ethic and earned respect from his teammates have made him a "Bell Cow" for our team," said Chuck Miesbauer '03, football coach. "When things got hard or distractions presented themselves, his teammates always found their way back to Isaac moving in a positive direction. Issac has always moved forward overcoming obstacles and leaving the past in the past. I am excited for Isaac's future at Carleton College. On the field and off, I know Issac will continue to grow as a leader and make a positive impact on anyone fortunate enough to spend time around him."
