Community Gathers with Over 120 Children for Cookies and Cocoa with Santa Event

December 12, 2023

On Saturday, December 9, the CDH Alumni Board hosted the third annual “Cookies & Cocoa with Santa” event in the Lentsch Forum. Raider alumni, family, friends, staff and community enjoyed cookies and cocoa while visiting with one another and Santa.

Special guests for the event included Teri McCloughan, Interim President, who visited Santa with her son, Charles McCloughan ‘08 and her grandchildren. CDH Board Chair Maria Wagner Reamer ‘82 and retired faculty Brother Michael Rivers were there as well. Courtney Marek Rankin '05, Vice President of the CDH Alumni Board, attended as a host and volunteer, as well as a parent. She said "this is one of my favorite events of the year. It's the most low-key way you'll find to meet Santa anywhere! And it's free and open to all in the greater community!"

Special thanks to the many event volunteers, including the JROTC cadets who stepped in as Santa’s helpers and sophomore piano player Alexa Wahlberg ‘26 who played Christmas music throughout the event. The Raider Rack school store was opened up for Christmas shopping: there were even drawings for Raider Rack gift cards.

The CDH Alumni Board, sponsor of this event, works to build connections with current CDH students, as well as alumni, family, friends, and community members. Other initiatives include partnerships with Class Representatives to foster lifelong relationships between alumni.

Board members develop leadership experiences and networking opportunities with Cretin, Derham Hall, and CDH alumni of all ages. Remain engaged with CDH! If you are interested in joining the CDH Alumni Board, contact Alumni Relations & Events Coordinator Megan Fee Smith ‘00 for more information.
