Dr. Aimee Klapach

Cretin-Derham Hall team physician Dr. Aimee Klapach was cited as one of seven doctors named in the Sports Medicine field as a top Minnesota doctor by Minnesota Monthly Magazine.

Dr. Klapach is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports knee and shoulder injuries for Sports and Orthopedic Specialists. She has additional board certification in orthopedic sports medicine. Her expertise encompasses advanced arthroscopic techniques and reconstructive
surgery.

Dr. Klapach has been with Sports and Orthopedic Specialists, and Cretin-Derham Hall, since 2005. She covers game days for home football games. A graduate of the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, Dr. Klapach completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder there. She completed her residency in orthopedic surgery and medical school training at the University of Iowa, where she graduated with honors.

An avid athlete herself, Dr. Klapach received numerous awards during her career on the University of Iowa field hockey team. She earned academic All-Big Ten honors, Big Ten player of the week awards, and was a Division I honorable mention All-American. In addition to being an ongoing team member and team captain, Dr. Klapach also served as an assistant coach for the 1994-95 season.

Dr. Klapach has also received several awards for her research and academic work. She won the Mid-America Orthopedic Association Award for Excellence in Writing and has served as a mentor for the American Medical Women's Association. In addition, several of her articles have been published in the prestigious Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. Dr. Klapach has also presented at many regional and national conferences, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
