Homecoming Mass Kicks Off a Week of Celebration
September 25, 2024
Homecoming Mass was celebrated on Monday, September 23, officiated by Father Pat Kennedy '69 and centered around the theme of “Home.” The Mass brought the school community together in prayer at the start of a busy week full of Homecoming festivities.
An impressive number of students took part in the Mass, with 50 contributing to the music ministry. This included music ministers, the full choir, and several band members. A particularly memorable moment came from Senhit Hashel '25, who gave a beautiful violin performance.
In addition to the talented students, everyone was excited to see two of our new faculty members, economics teacher Mr. Mikhail Faulconer on guitar and band director Mr. Teddy Williams on drums, join in the music ministry as well.
The service featured five new student readers who led the congregation in the readings and World Language teacher Tommy Murray '97 delivering a Call to Prayer, reflecting on how CDH becomes a home for many students, offering them comfort, growth, and a sense of belonging. Murray's message was a good reminder to everyone of the warmth and community that define Homecoming at Cretin-Derham Hall.
