Musical Theater Students Take the Stage for Showcase Performance

March 9, 2024

Musical Theater, a CDH class co-taught by Ms. Schuster and Ms. Parsons-Lord, recently showcased the results of their trimester-long efforts. The class focused on practical aspects of musical theater, covering audition skills, resume building, performance repertoire, and scene blocking. Apart from selecting, rehearsing, and blocking their showcase songs, students also researched the history of the corresponding musicals.

The lineup for the showcase featured songs from various productions, including "Into the Woods," "Waitress," "Beetlejuice," "Fiddler on the Roof," and "Wicked." The students' hard work paid off with an intimate and expressive performance in the black box theater that, according to Ms. Schuster, "dazzled the audience."
