Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our new format of the Communicator.  Our goal is to provide you with relevant and timely stories about Cretin-Derham Hall in a user-friendly electronic interface.  Many thanks to our  Communications Committee for designing and implementing this new format and to the faculty and staff who have provided stories about our students and our school. As you will see in the stories they have written, the school year is in full swing.

School years have a familiar rhythm to them and much like the Liturgical Calendar, we have settled into “Ordinary Time.”   We have already reached the mid-trimester mark and are looking forward to seeing you at Parent Teacher Conferences. Our school community has celebrated two all school Masses together, including our opening celebration with Archbishop Hebda. Homecoming has come and gone and many of our fall sports teams are already in section play.   JROTC has marched in their Fall Review. Our performing arts department has already hosted the Bandcake Breakfast, performed their first choir concert and are preparing for the fall play, "She Loves Me."   Our students have planned our first Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, implemented a Food to Hogs recycling program, participated in the 9th grade, Link Crew, PFP and Senior Women’s retreats, started their Senior Service and much, much more! Our faculty, staff and students have accomplished all of this while managing a challenging academic environment.

Yes, we have settled into the “ordinary” swing of things, but what we do at CDH is really quite extraordinary!  Thank you to the students, staff and parents for all the hard work and support you have already provided this year.

May God’s peace and blessings be with you.
