Alexis Bonfe '21 Signs to St. Michael's College

November 11, 2020

Alexis Bonfe '21 has signed to play hockey for St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT. Because she is a distance learning student, her signing ceremony was held over Zoom with her parents and Athletic Director Phil Archer '99. We caught up with Bonfe to celebrate her signing.

What position do you play? I play center.

Why did you choose St. Michael's? I chose St. Michael’s because I have always wanted to go out east and I love the outdoors. I love that I can see the mountains and that there’s a lake ten minutes away.

What do you plan on majoring in? Business Administration with a Psychology minor.

What do you love about hockey? I love the feeling of the cold air and the sounds in the rink. There is no other place where you can hear a tiny puck hit someone’s stick and make a loud noise like that.

What is your best CDH hockey memory? My best CDH hockey memory was my sophomore year, when we beat Benilde- St. Margaret's in sections. I had a power play goal that got us up. It felt amazing to beat a school like that, especially knowing that we would be done for the season if we didn’t.

Why are you excited to play college hockey? I’m really excited to play in college because it has been a dream since I was 10 to go out east and play D1. I actually started playing when I was 9 and was always playing catch-up because most girls start skating at 2 or 3. With enough hard work and support from my parents, I finally did it. I achieved my dream. I could not be more grateful or excited to play with great coaches and great girls.
