1970s

General Joseph L. Votel '76, is retiring from his assigned duties. No words can express the pride and gratitude that we have for this man, our brother, who has served our country and the international community. For 43 years, since graduating from Cretin in 1976 and West Point in 1980, Joe has lived a commitment to his country and his faith. Keep Joe, his successor, and the men and women of the United States military in your prayers. - John Traxler '76

2000s

Lisa Johnson '02 was named as one of the 40 Under 40 by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Bernstein is a Vice President and Client Advisor at Bernstein Private Wealth Management.

Chuck Miesbauer '03 has returned to CDH as Football Coach and Advancement Gift Officer.

Danny Docherty '08 has been training with Team USA MN since 2015 with a goal of qualifying for the Olympics. He narrowly missed qualifying in the last Olympic cycle in the 10K and the Marathon. On January 20 Docherty and three other Team USA teammates traveled to Houston to run in the Chevron Houston Marathon. This was to be Docherty's marathon debut. He had a goal of running a time that would qualify him for the Olympic Trials in 2020 to be run in Atlanta, GA, as did his teammates. In the debut run Docherty finished the race in a time of 2:18:27 in 19th place. He bettered the B qualifying standard and has earned the right to run in the 2020 Olympic trials in Atlanta, GA. His other teammates also qualified; one with a 2:16 marathon, another with a 1:03 half marathon, and the only woman to race for the team that weekend with a 2:33 marathon. - Chris Babcock, Coach
