The 21st annual Empty Bowls lunch and dinner were wonderful gatherings of students, staff, alumni and friends of CDH, all supporters of Empty Bowls and Heifer International's efforts to end food insecurity, hunger and starvation in our world. Together, student leaders, generous donors and roughly 600 guests helped raise over $5,000 to support the work of Heifer International!

Over the last 21 years, approximately 20,000 attendees have enjoyed 20,000 bowls of soup, slices of bread, and ceramic bowls. Approximately 1,000 student  leaders and volunteers have helped serve our guests and over $160,000 has been donated to Heifer International.

Food insecurity, hunger and starvation is the daily reality for the majority of our world's population. Empty Bowls is one of many efforts to address this critical need. Heifer International's core mission is to help people around the world become self sustaining by providing the resources needed for them to feed themselves and their communities.

Beginning in October, an outstanding team of students began planning for our Feb. 8 lunch and dinner. Empty Bowls is lead by Lauren Bullis '23, Patrick Domler '23, Norah Malloy '23, Ava Redpath '23, Mary Soltis '23, Elisa Veglia '23, Lucy Cornett '24, Annabel Fulton '24, Michael Loeffler '24, Katie O’Donnell '24, Olivia Reeder '24, Josie Thomas '24, Hadley Beyerlein '25, Mickey Coenen '25, MJ Dougherty '25, Mark Loeffler '25, and Grace McSherry '25.
