1960s 

Twelve alumni gathered for the monthly Class of '63 lunch to break bread and socialize.  Rumor has it, the group also met for 'The Charlie' Golf Outing on Aug 10.

Cretin-Derham Hall coach Mal Scanlan '61, scored his fourth career hole-in-one at at Highland National.

1970s

Br. Pat Conway ‘71, former VP of Mission and Identity at Christian Brothers University, Memphis, is now facilitating and teaching in the Social Justice Institute at CBU with a renewed focus on students and faculty. 

Kerry Casey '79, is a local author of five books and one book of poetry.  His latest book is titled "The Wager" and is a story about a greenskeeper who goes up against a prima donna tour player in a multimillion-dollar golf match that he has no chance of winning—until he becomes involved with the LPGA’s No. 2 golfer. All of his works can be found on his website.

1990s

Over 90 Class of '92 alums attended their reunion at Shamrocks on July 30, 2022. A Memorial Mass was also held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church to honor their four deceased classmates: Mike Greeley '92, Mark Monogue '92, Kristin Olin Schifsky '92, and Jim Simmer '92.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kathleen Mary Leahy '97 planned, organized and coordinated a Flaherty and Gibbons Family Reunion held at the Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria, Minnesota early this August. There were about 100-125 attendees in total from Minnesota, California, Massachusetts, Iowa, and Tennessee with approximately 20-25 graduates from Cretin, Derham Hall and CDH in attendance.

 

 

 

 

 

2000s

Brian Knutson '00 assumed the Military Science Department Chair role for University of Wisconsin La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Winona State University. 

Zach Cizek '07 was honored with the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from St. Mary's University of Minnesota for his success in the medical device industry as well as building Bollito’s, an Italian sauce company. 

Mike Halley ‘01 and Joe Mauer ‘01 met up at the lunch table in our cafeteria that forged a friendship and inspired a story that was published by author Joe Schmit, KSTP Sports, about their shared experience in high school at CDH.  The story of their friendship illustrates how small efforts yield a big impact. The two men are working with Schmit and Thumbs Up High Foundation to film and distribute their story as a tool to inspire middle and high school students to have an impact on others in small but meaningful ways.  Watch this inspiring story here.  

Totino Grace’s boys basketball team won the Class AAA State Title under Head Coach Nick Carroll '06

2010s

Faryn Hughes '10, a local artist. had her illustrations featured in a State Fair article for the Pioneer Press. Check out her web site to see more of her work.

Michael Magnuson '17 made All MIAC Academic Honors

Daniel Oturo '18 held a youth basketball camp at Cretin-Derham Hall for the second time this summer.

2020s

Tre Halloman ‘22 was highlighted in the Lansing State Journal as a stand-out for their basketball team.
