Together, Matt Funk, Athletic Director, and associate assistant athletic directors, Bob Kinne '11Tony Yazbeck, and Tara Seifert, the newest addition to the team, make up the CDH Athletics Department. The four former student athletes now coach boys hockey, boys golf, boys basketball, and girls basketball, respectively, and funnel their love of sport into fueling a program that engages, challenges, and inspires.

What is your professional background?

Funk: I worked for 22.5 years at Target Corporation. I was an Inventory Analyst, ran our New Store Set-Up team, was a buyer in Electronics and up & up private label brand, and was responsible for the team that planned the space for all of our holidays and Essentials for Target. I loved working for Target. It taught me a ton of leadership skills & how to work in a fast-paced environment.

Yazbeck: Before coming to CDH, I had a long career in the business world working for companies like Thomson Reuters, Sports Engine, FloSports, and Baller TV.

Kinne: My first job after college was here at CDH in 2018 as the Assistant AD, and I have been in this position ever since.

Seifert: I worked in the fitness industry for 15 years and have held a business marketing position the past eight years. I have coached girls basketball for 20 years.

What do you love about CDH?

Funk: I love the faith-based community model of education. I went to 17 years of Catholic education, and it made me who I am today. I love our tradition and that we have always remained a fixture in our community. I am proud to lead the Athletic program at a school where over 91% of our students participate in athletics, with 24 state championships to show for it.

Yazbeck:  The community! This is a very tight community, and everyone supports each other. Being able to work with the students every day is a big plus. I love that we can engage our entire student body and create activities to keep them active, network, and make new friendships.

Kinne: I love being at a Catholic private school with a JROTC program and rich history. I come from a long list of graduates, and it was always a place where I wanted to come to school growing up! Now that I work here, it is great to have the opportunity to give back like all of the people before me.

Seifert: I love the amazing athletic and academic history and tradition at CDH! The staff is very welcoming, and I am impressed with the overall positive culture at CDH.

What is your favorite food?

Funk: Pizza or tacos

Yazbeck: Steak

Kinne: My wife Grace's homemade pasta noodles and sauce

Seifert: Sushi

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?

Funk: On the golf course or at the cabin
