Influenza A on the Rise

December 8, 2021

Influenza A cases are on the rise both in the community and at CDH. Please notify the attendance line (651-696-3311) if your child has tested positive for Influenza A. Please consult with your health care provider if your child has any flu symptoms. The school nurse is noticing students with Influenza A are running fevers and recommends contacting your health care provider to determine if medication, such as Tamiflu, would be beneficial.

If your child is diagnosed with influenza they can return to school 24 hours after they are fever-free without fever-reducing medication.

Covid-19 rates remain high, and include breakthrough infections of vaccinated people as well as reinfections in people who have already been infected. We will continue to follow MDH guidelines regarding mitigation strategies, isolation, and quarantine.

As a reminder, it is imperative that if your child has any symptoms of either Covid-19 or Influenza, do not send them to school. It is important that sick students stay home in order to minimize the spread of these diseases in our community.
