The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas
After the assassination of her father and the upheaval of the Mexican revolution, Beatriz longs for the stability and security of a home of her own.  She hopes to find this in the arms of Don Rodolfo Solórzano and his country estate, hacienda San Isidro. It soon becomes apparent, however, that there is something wickedly wrong with the hacienda and Beatriz is in grave danger. Taking inspiration from gothic classics like Rebecca and Jane Eyre, this is a debut not to be missed!
